ArchiveOptics, LLC
An independent American software company · Chuluota, Florida

ArchiveOptics builds native Mac software for people who take their photographs seriously — working photographers, lifelong hobbyists, and families with generations of images to care for. Our two applications, PhotoLibrarian and Negative Converter, share one conviction: a photographic archive belongs to the photographer, not to the software that happens to open it.
The company was founded by a veteran systems software engineer — and, like many of our future customers, the keeper of a personal archive of more than 150,000 photographs and boxes of family film. We build the software we needed and couldn't buy: a catalogue that imports years of Lightroom curation without a subscription attached, and a film converter that treats a scanned negative like the irreplaceable artifact it is.
What we believe
- Local first. Your images stay on your Mac. No cloud requirement, no accounts, no telemetry — our software works on a machine that never touches the internet.
- Originals are sacred. Our applications never modify or delete an existing image file. Every edit is stored as data; every output is a new file.
- Native or nothing. We build real Mac apps — Swift, GPU-accelerated imaging, Core ML — designed exclusively for Apple Silicon, not cross-platform compromises.
- Bought means bought. One-time purchases. When we ship, you buy the software once and it keeps working.
- Honest claims. Everything on this website describes software that exists and behaves as described. When something is still in development, we say so.
